Family Koeneiidae
Micro Whipscorpions

The Order Palpigradi consists of tiny, primitive arachnids commonly known as microwhip scorpions. These minute, blind or nearly blind arthropods typically inhabit soil, leaf litter, caves, and under rocks, where they feed on fungi, spores, and small organic matter. They are characterized by their elongated, segmented bodies, long whip-like tail (flagellum), and delicate legs adapted for crawling through narrow spaces. Palpigradi are considered relict and cryptic, meaning they have changed little over evolutionary time and are rarely encountered, making them of special interest to arachnologists and evolutionary biologists.
