The Order Hymenoptera is a large and diverse group of insects that includes ants, bees, wasps, and sawflies. Members of this order are characterized by two pairs of membranous wings, with the hind wings smaller than the forewings, and chewing or chewing-lapping mouthparts. Many species exhibit complex social behavior, forming colonies with divisions of labor, especially in ants and honeybees. Hymenopterans play critical ecological roles as pollinators, predators, and parasitoids, helping control pest populations and maintain plant reproduction. Their diversity, adaptability, and social organization make them one of the most ecologically and economically important insect orders.
