Habitat:
This species inhabits mixed forests, and breeds in small streams, where the larvae also develop. During the non-reproductive period, the toads disperse in the forest and hide under the stream stones during the day (Fei et al. 2012). Adult toads breed in streams, and females spawn 160-197 eggs (Fei et al. 2012). Eggs adhere to the bottom of stones, and tadpoles are found in small numbers in rocky crevices in the gentle flow of medium-sized streams (Fei et al. 2012).
Range:
This species is known from a single small stream in Puxiong in Yuexi County, in southern Sichuan province, China, between 2,850–3,000 m asl. Its extent of occurrence (EOO) is 10 km2, and its area of occupancy (AOO) is 4 km2.
