Habitat:
It is a stream-breeding amphibian that inhabits mountain forest, grassland and shrubland habitats. During the breeding period, adults mostly live in swampy streams near the source of mountain streams. The female toad lays 150-200 eggs, which adhere to the bottom of stones in water, on stems and leaves, and in dirt holes. Tadpoles live under rocks in small mountain streams, between rocks in backwater of larger mountain streams, and in mud (B. Wang pers. comm. June 2019).
Range:
This species is known only from three locations in Zhaojue, Yuexi and Meigu in Sichuan Province, between 2,700–3,700 m asl (B. Wang pers. comm. June 2019). It occurs in fewer than five threat-defined locations, and its extent of occurrence (EOO) is 2,329 km2.
