Habitat:
This species inhabits spring-fed marshes in conifer forests, and breeds by larval development in very small streams.

Range:
This species is only known from Gongshan and Biluoxueshan, in northwestern Yunnan Province, China. It has been recorded from an elevational range of 2,800–3,850 m asl. This species is likely to be found in neighbouring northern Myanmar, but there are no records to date. Its estimated extent of occurrence (EOO) is 8,622 km2.

Conservation Actions In-Place
Most of the range of this species is within the Gaoligongshan Nature Reserve, now part of the Three Parallel Rivers World Heritage Site (D-q. Rao pers. comm. June 2019).

Conservation Needs
Continuation of rigorous management of the existing parks is the best guarantee for the conservation of this species. Additionally, community education and awareness outreach efforts are recommended.

Research Needs
Further research on this species' distribution, population size and trends, as well as general ecology is recommended.
