Habitat:
This species inhabits seepages, marshy pools and the surrounding areas in high mountains, and breeds in streams. Egg are laid on the bottom of stones or at the roots of moss and weeds (Fei et al. 2012). Tadpoles live in small numbers under springs or streamside stones (Fei et al. 2012).

Range:
This species is known only from Jiulong County in southern Sichuan Province, China, between 3,120–3,750 m asl. (F. Xie pers. comm. June 2019). It is not thought to occur more widely. It occurs in one threat-defined locations, and its extent of occurrence (EOO) is 2,664 km2.
