Habitat:
This species occurs in the pristine humid alpine páramo habitat where it occurs in grassland, in bryophytes, and the leaf litter at the base of Espeletia plants. There is no information on its breeding biology, but it presumably takes place by direct development like other species of the genus.

Range:
This species is endemic to the Páramo del Duende, Cerro Calima, municipality of Río Frio, in the department of Valle del Cauca and Litoral de San Juan Municipality in Chocó Department, in Colombia, from 3,200-3,800 m asl. Its extent of occurrence (EOO) is 67 kmand all individuals occur in a single threat-defined location.

There is a need for close monitoring to determine whether climate change is having any effect on the population, particularly given its confined range. More information is needed on this species' distribution, population status, ecology, and threats.
