Habitat:
It is known from undisturbed cloud forest forest. Individuals have been recorded on vegetation up to 2 m above the forest floor (Sunyer et al. 2008). Temperature and relative humidity are directly related with the presence of this salamander (Robleto-Hernández 2018). It is breeds by direct development and when it reaches sexual maturity; it only reproduces once a year (Robleto-Hernández et al. 2019).
Range:
This species is restricted to a single location in Parque Nacional Volcán Maderas, Isla de Ometepe, Departamento de Rivas, Nicaragua (Sunyer et al. 2008). It occurs at elevations between 800 and 1,200 m asl, and its estimated extent of occurrence (EOO) is 10 km2.
