Habitat:
It is a montane forest species, and it is not known whether or not it can persist in altered habitats. It breeds by direct development.

Range:
This species was previously only known from the eastern slopes of the Andes in Ecuador. However it has now also been recorded from the eastern slopes of the Andes in southern Colombia (Acosta and Gutierrez 2012), which is its first country record. It has been recorded between 1,600–2,360 m asl.

Conservation:
Conservation Actions 
This species' range overlaps with Parque Nacional Sumaco Napo-Galeras, Parque Nacional Llanganates, Parque Nacional Sangay, Reserva Ecológica Cayambe-Coca, and Reserva Ecológica Antisana. It is not known from any protected areas in Colombia.
