The family Troglodytidae comprises the wrens, a diverse group of small, primarily insectivorous birds found mostly in the Americas, with a few species in Europe, Asia, and Africa. Wrens are known for their energetic behavior, loud and complex songs, and characteristic upright tails. They typically inhabit dense vegetation, forests, and brushy areas, where they forage for insects, spiders, and other small invertebrates. Most species are monogamous and build dome-shaped nests, often in concealed locations such as shrubs, tree cavities, or rock crevices. Wrens exhibit a high degree of ecological adaptability, and their vocalizations play an important role in territory defense and mate attraction. The family includes several well-known species such as the house wren (Troglodytes aedon) and the marsh wren (Cistothorus palustris).
