There is little information available on the natural history of this poorly known bat.

Range:
This little known African species has been recorded from very few locations over a wide area. It has been reported from a small area on the border between Congo and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, a single locality in southwestern Democratic Republic of the Congo, and from a small area of coastal Kenya and Tanzania.

Conservation:
There appear to be no direct conservation measures in place. It has been recorded from the Kambai Forest Reserve in Tanzania by Cunneyworth (1996). Further studies are needed into the taxonomy, distribution, natural history and threats to this poorly known species.
