Habitat:
This bat has been caught low-flying over streams in lowland dipterocarp forest. Presumably it is a foliage rooster, not known from caves. Nothing is known about roost size, but it is probably small. Most records observed this species to inhabit primary forest but was also been recorded in disturbed lowland forest and logged forest. In Malaysia, the Peninsular Malaysia populations showed smaller weight and forearm lengths compared to Borneo Malaysia populations possibly as an effect of ecological factors.

Range:
This species can be expected to occur in Thailand, but as yet there are no records (S. Bumrungsri pers. comm). It can be found on Borneo in Brunei, Malaysia, and Indonesia (Struebig et al. 2012). In Malaysia, it was recorded at Krau Wildlife Reserve, Semangkok Forest Reserve, Ulu Gombak, Kledang Saiong Forest Reserve, Gunung Tebu Forest Reserve and Temenggor Forest Reserve (Kuo et al. 2009, Lim et al. 2017, Kingston et al. 2006 and Harrison and Potts, 2011). In Malaysian Borneo, this species can be found both in Sabah and Sarawak protected areas including Maliau Basin Conservation Area (Turner 2011), Gomantong cave (Hill and Francis 1984), Mount Murud, Gunung Gading National Park, Niah National Park, Kubah National Park and Mulu National Park (Khan et al. pers. Comm.). This species also known to occur in Indonesian part including Sangkulirang limestone formation, Bukit Barisan Selatan, Sumatra and Kalimantan (Suyanto and Struebig 2007, Huang et al. 2014 and Suyanto et al. 2002).

Conservation:
Francis (1997) found this species in Krau Wildlife Reserve. Most extant range for this species was in protected area including national parks and wildlife reserve in Sabah and Sarawak (Borneo Malaysia).
