Habitat:
This species is associated with Afromontane forest and shrubland. Little additional information is available on the natural history of this species.

Range:
This species is endemic to the highlands of Ethiopia, where it has been recorded from about ten localities from both sides of the rift valley between 1,300 and 2,500 m asl.

Conservation:
There appear to be no conservation measures in place for this species. The species has been documented in at least one protected area Bale National Park (P. Benda, pers. obs). There is a need to conserve areas of suitable montane forest habitat for this bat. Further studies are needed into the abundance, biology and ecology of this species.
