Habitat:
Little is known about the habitat or ecology of this species except that this species is found in tropical thorn forests and urban areas preferring to roost in crevices and holes in old buildings and hollows in trees (Molur et al. 2002).

Range:
This species is endemic to South Asia and is presently known from India (Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal) and Pakistan (Punjab and Sind) (Srinivasulu and Srinivasulu 2012, Shahbaz et al. 2015). It has been recorded from 46 m up to an elevation of 2,500 m asl (Molur et al. 2002).

Conservation:
There are no direct conservation measures in place for this species. The species has not been recorded from any protected areas. Further studies are needed on distribution, abundance, reproduction, ecology, population monitoring, habitat maintenance, limiting factor research, public awareness and conservation lobbying are actions recommended for the species (Molur et al. 2002).
