Habitat:
This species has been recorded from a variety of habitats, ranging from lowland tropical moist forest, to both moist and dry savanna. Animals have been found roosting in a house and in a hollow dead palm tree (Happold 1987).

Range:
This African bat has been recorded as scattered records from West, East, and south-east Africa. It has been reported from Senegal, Côte d'Ivoire, Ghana, Togo and Nigeria in West Africa, from central Sudan, and from western Democratic Republic of the Congo, western Kenya and Tanzania, south to Mozambique, Malawi and eastern Zimbabwe.

Conservation:
There appear to be no direct conservation measures in place. It is not known if the species is present in any protected areas. Management of protected areas is necessary.
