Range:
This species has been recorded from the holotype at Wrightmyo, South Andaman Island, India. Das (1999) found six individuals of Crocidura jenkinsi in sympatry with Crocidura andamanensis on Mount Harriet, South Andaman Island. It has been recorded up to 100 m asl (Molur et al. 2005).

Conservation:
This shrew has been recorded from Mount Harriet National Park (Das 1999). There is a need to maintain areas of suitable forest habitat for this species. Additional research is needed into the taxonomy, abundance, and threats to this species, with regular monitoring of populations also needed (Molur et al. 2005).
