Habitat:
This species has highly specific habitat requirements. It occurs in close proximity to open water, has a distinct preference for marshy ponds, and also needs riverine and semi-aquatic vegetation such as reed beds.

Range:
This largely southern African species, ranges from southeastern Democratic Republic of Congo, south into Zambia, Angola, northeast Namibia, northwest Botswana (the Okavango Delta), Zimbabwe, southern Mozambique, Swaziland and eastern South Africa.

Conservation:
There are no direct conservation measures in place for this species. It is not known if the species is present within any protected areas.
