Habitat:
One specimen was caught in an isolated barren of stunted trees and sparse ground cover in a region characterized by dense, wet evergreen forest (Reid 1997). It is confirmed as a species of the cloud forest (Carleton and Musser 1995).

Range:
This species is known only from far west Panama (Hutterer 2005). It occurs from 1,200 to 1,850 m (Reid 1997).

Conservation:
The species is probably found in La Amistad protected area.
