Habitat:
It can be found in cool, evergreen forest and forest edge. It can also be found in drier, open woodland on the Pacific Slope. Additionally it can be found in pastures and other open areas. The litter size is one to three (Reid 1997).

Range:
This species occurs in the highlands above 800 m asl in Costa Rica, and above 1,000 m in western Panama (Hutterer 2005). It is known from 800 to 2,900 m asl (Reid 1997).

Conservation:
It occurs in some protected areas.
