Habitat:
This is a largely arboreal species of primary montane tropical moist forest. It has not been recorded from secondary forest habitats. Females may give birth to a single young.

Range:
This species is widely distributed throughout the Vogelkop Peninsula (Indonesia), central New Guinea (Indonesia and Papua New Guinea), and the Huon Peninsula (Papua New Guinea). It has been recorded between 850 and 3,050 m asl (mostly above 1,200 m).

Conservation:
It occurs in several protected areas.
