Habitat:
This is a poorly known species. It inhabits sandy patches within periodically flooded humid Chaco areas (Bidau 2015). The range overlaps C. argentinus so may be similar.

Range:
This species is known from a few populations surrounding the type locality at 7.5 km from Capitán Solari, Departamento Sargento Cabral, Provincia del Chaco at approximately 90 m elevation. The surrounding populations are distributed around this locality in Chaco Province, in the Chaco Húmedo ecoregion, Argentina, described in an area of 90 m² (de Freitas 2016). The entire distribution of this species occurs within the range of C. argentinus (Bidau 2015).

Conservation:
It is found within Parque Nacional del Chaco (Ojeda and Bidau pers. comm).
