Habitat:
This species occurs in the Chaco Seco ecoregion of Córdoba, Argentina (de Freitas 2016) and in Patagonian steppes (Lessa pers. comm.)
Range:
This species is known only from a few localities in the provinces of Santa Cruz and Río Negro, Argentina (Bidau 2015).
Conservation:
There is no information available about any conservation measures being made to protect this species. Further research is necessary to clarify the true status of this species. This species was considered Endangered in Argentina's National Red List of Mammals (Ojeda and Diaz 2000), but it is now considered DD in the 2012 National Red List (Ojeda et al. 2012).
