Habitat:
This solitary and territorial species exhibits sedentary behavior and sexual size dimorphism in favor of males (Bidau 2015). In the coastal plain of southern Brazil, this species inhabits sandy grasslands and dunes (Galiano et al. 2016). It typically occupies the highest parts of sandy and dry fields and pastures not far from water bodies (Bidau 2015).

Range:
This species is known from the southern Brazilian states of Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul (Bidau 2015) and occupies the Coastal Plain of southern Brazil, from Laguna Beach, in Santa Catarina State, to São José do Norte, State of Rio Grande do Sul (Freitas 1995, Galiano et al. 2015, Kubiak et al. 2015, Lopes et al. 2015)

Conservation:
It is not known from any protected areas in Brazil and there are no conservation measures currently in place.
