Habitat:
There is little information available about the ecology and habitat requirements of this species. This species tends to be found in steppe habitats leading into forest (PardiƱas 2013).

Range:
This species is found between the Upper Chico River and the Andes, and extends an area of approximately 2,000 km (PardiƱas 2013) in the Santa Cruz province of Argentina (de Freitas 2016). It is known only from the type locality south of Parque Nacional Perito Moreno (Allen 1903; Lessa and Bidau pers. comm.).

Conservation:
There is no information available about any conservation measures being made to protect this species. Further research is necessary to clarify the true status of this species.
