Habitat:
This species inhabits lowland and submontane forests, as well as urbanized areas from sea level to 1,500 m asl. This diurnal, arboreal species is associated with the trunks of large trees. It feeds on ants and possibly other small arthropods. Clutches have 2 to 6 eggs, and the incubation period lasts 26 to 29 days (Das 2010).
Range:
This species is found only on Java and Bali, where its widespread and common (L. Grismer, J. McGuire and E. Quah pers. comm. 2017).
Conservation:
Given the high density and wide distribution of this species throughout Java and Bali, no conservation measures are necessary at this point in time (L. Grismer and E. Quah pers. comm. 2017)
