Habitat:
It can be found in primary and secondary forest habitats, forest edges and rural gardens. It is found in more open areas where there is no interspecific competition with other Emoia. It is oviparous.
Range:
This species is widespread in the Pacific, ranging from the Bismark Islands (Papua New Guinea), through the Solomon Islands (Bougainville and islands of the Shortland Group [M. McCoy pers. comm. November 2011]) and Vanuatu (northern and eastern), eastwards, Cook Islands (Rarotonga only, possibly introduced), French Polynesia (including the Austral Islands), Federated States of Micronesia, Marshall Islands, Tonga, Fiji (widespread) and Samoa. It has been introduced to Hawaii, USA, but has now been extirpated from here. It is present from sea level to around 500 m asl.
Conservation:
It is present within a number of protected areas. There is additional research required to verify the distribution records for some populations.
