Habitat:
This species occupies a wide variety of habitats within its range, occurring in virtually all conditions through eastern and northern Australia, except for the alps (Wilson and Swan 2013).
Range:
Present in Australia and the Tanibar Islands of Indonesia. In Australia, Tiliqua scincoides ranges from the east of South Australia, through eastern Victoria and New South Wales to the eastern two-thirds of Queensland, and the northern coast of Northern Territory and Western Australia. T. s. scincoides occurs in the southern and eastern portions of this range, whereas T. s. intermedia occupies the north and west (Cogger 2000, Wilson and Swan 2013). There is an isolated subpopulation of T. s. scincoides in central Australia.
Conservation:
There are no specific conservation actions for this species. Subpopulations are present within a variety of protected areas, including 46 National Parks in Queensland (Macdonald 2012).
