Class Trichomycetes
Trichomycetes
Class Zygomycetes
Zygomycetes

This group of fungi produces a thick-walled resting spore called a zygospore. The zygospore develops within a zygosporangium formed as a result of the complete fusion of two equal or unequal gametangia. Most Zygomycetes produce a well-developed mycelium consisting of coenocytic hyphae. Motile cells are absent in the zygomycetes. Asexual reproduction occurs typically by the production of sporangiospores although, some species produce chlamydospores.
