The family Superstitioniidae is a monotypic group of scorpions, comprising a single species, Superstitionia donensis. This species was first described by H.L. Stahnke in 1940 and is named after the Superstition Mountains in Arizona, where it was originally discovered. Superstitionia donensis is found in desert and mountain terrains across the southwestern United States and parts of Mexico, including western New Mexico, Arizona, southern Nevada, southern California, Baja California, Baja California Sur, and Sonora.
