Habitat:
This salamander is only known from the type specimen collected at night shortly after a rain storm near the headwaters of the Río Chiriquí Malí. The salamander was found on the large leaf of an Araceae plant in an old clearing overgrown with grass and bushes adjacent to broadleaf, evergreen mature forest (Hertz et al. 2013).

Range:
This species is only known from the type locality in the Fortuna depression on the continental divide of Cordillera Central in western Panama, at 1,060 m Asl (Hertz et al. 2013).

The type locality lies within Bosque Protector Palo Seco and it possibly also occurs in adjacent La Fortuna Forest Reserve. 

Research Needed
Further research is required into its life history and distribution to better understand the threats and population.
