Habitat:
The species occurs in sub-páramo to subandean montane forests among fallen leaves on the ground, and in low bromeliads (Acosta and Hoyos 2006). It has also been recorded from disturbed habitats such as pastureland and heavily degraded forest. Its breeding strategy remains unknown.

Range:
This species is known from high elevations of the central Andes (Cordillera Central) in the departments of Antioquia, Caldas, Quindio, Risoralda and Tolima, in Colombia, between 2,210–3,000 m asl.
