Habitat:
This species is found in deserts and requires aeolian sand dunes. It feeds on lizards and geckos. It can hunt actively on the sand surface or remain concealed just below the surface of the sand waiting for prey. They are primarily crepuscular and nocturnal.

Range:
This coastal species is endemic to Namibia, where it occurs in northern and southern Sand Sea (Branch 1998). Its elevational range is 0-100 m.

Conservation:
This species occurs in Skeleton Coast and Namib-Naukluft National Parks. There are no known species-specific conservation measures in place for this species.
