Habitat:
It appears mostly to be restricted to pine-oak forest, usually in areas of volcanic rock and outcroppings.

Range:
This species is endemic to Mexico. Disjunct locations are recognized; southwestern Michoacan in the Sierra de Coalcoman and in the northeast in eastern Volcanic Belt, and in the extreme western Volcanic Belt in southern Jalisco and adjacent Colima.

Conservation:
It occurs within Colima Volcano protected area.
