Habitat:
The island is mostly rocky, and dominated by thorn scrub vegetation. The snake inhabits the rocky barren areas covered with sparse brush, scrub and cacti.

Range:
The species is endemic to the island of Tortuga, in the Gulf of California, Mexico. It has been found throughout the island, except in the caldera of the volcano.

Conservation:
The island on which the species occurs is a protected area.
