Habitat:
This species is a nocturnal frog found in primary and secondary tropical rainforest, as well as gallery forest in the Cerrado. It can also be found at the forest edge. Individuals perch on trunks in the forest (up to 40 m) or sit at the banks of ponds. It reproduces in temporary ponds or other water bodies (including water-filled tyre tracks) in the forest or forest edge. Newly metamorphosed individuals are associated with temporary ponds (Neckel-Oliveira 2007).

Range:
This species is distributed in the Amazon Basin of Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Brazil, as well as the upper Orinoco Basin of Venezuela, and the Guianas. Its elevational range is up to 1,250 m asl.
