It is usually found in human habitats such as agricultural areas, ditches, artificial ponds, and lakes. It is an explosive breeder (A. Diesmos pers. comm. March 2018), and tadpoles develop in the same microhabitats.


Range:

This species occurs on major islands all over the Philippines, and can be found at elevations between 0-800 m asl (A. Diesmos pers. comm. March 2018). It is expected to occur more widely than currently mapped in the lowlands of Palawan (A. Diesmos pers. comm. March 2018).

The range of this species includes several protected areas. It can live in disturbed habitats; hence protected areas are not essential for the species' long-term survival.
