Habitat:

This species inhabits the forest floor stratum in lower montane and lowland forests. It has a microhabitat preference for the banks of fast-flowing streams, and individuals have been observed on rocks mid-stream and on the banks of rivers and streams (Siler et al. 2012). When disturbed, it will jump into flowing water (Siler et al. 2012). It breeds by direct development. It is not likely to tolerate habitat disturbance (A. Diesmos pers. comm. March 2018).

Range:
This species occurs in the rainforests of Romblon, Tablas, and Sibuyan Islands in the Philippines, between sea level up to 500 m asl (Siler et al. 2012, A. Diesmos pers. comm. March 2018). It is thought to be restricted to Romblon Island Group Pleistocene Aggregate Island Complex (PAIC) (A. Diesmos pers. comm. March 2018) where its extent of occurrence (EOO) is 3,541 km2, representing three threat-defined locations.

Conservation:
Conservation Actions
The subpopulation on Sibuyan Island is generally well protected.

Conservation Needed
The most important conservation measure needed at present is the improved protection of forests both inside and outside of protected areas, and the designation of the remaining rainforests as protected areas.

Research Needed
Further survey work is needed to determine the current population status of the species.
