Barn & Grass Owls

The Order Strigiformes comprises owls, a group of mostly nocturnal birds of prey known for their exceptional hunting abilities. They have a rounded head with large forward-facing eyes that provide excellent night vision, a sharp hooked beak, and powerful talons for capturing prey. Owls are adapted for silent flight due to specialized wing feathers that reduce noise, allowing them to approach prey stealthily. They feed mainly on small mammals, birds, and insects, and are found in diverse habitats worldwide, from forests and deserts to tundra. Strigiformes play an important role in controlling rodent populations and maintaining ecological balance.
