Habitat:
Artibeus concolor is a frugivore (Acosta and Owen 1993) that also consumes pollen, nectar, and other flower parts. The species can be found in a tropical moist forest, including fragmented ones, as well as a variety of forest, cerrado, and secondary habitats such as pastures, orchards, and clearing (Gardner 2008). Although also taken in the dry deciduous forests of Brazil, the species may be closely tied to more mesic riverine habitats.

Range:
This species is found in southern Colombia, Venezuela, the Guianas, Suriname, Ecuador, Peru, and northern Brazil (Albuja 1999, Tirira 1999, Simmons 2005). Also recorded from the Cerrado of Brazil (Zortea and Guimaraes 2006) and Bolivia (Vargas and Balderama 2009). It has been caught in moist areas from 100 to 1,000 m elevation, but in Venezuela, the vast majority has been taken below 500 m (Handley 1976).

Conservation:
Reduce habitat loss is needed. The species occurs in a number of protected areas throughout its range.
