Habitat:
The species is found in rainforest, gardens, and plantations, its roosts include caves and crevices. Handley (1976) reported this species taken in mistnets or from caves, generally in more humid regions in Venezuela, and frequently near streams. Also recorded in secondary forest and savanna in South America. The diet has not been recorded, but is probably similar to that of genus Lonchophylla (Emmons and Feer 1997, Reid 2009, Eisenberg and Redford 1999). Data from northern South America, Colombia and Venezuela, suggest reproductive activity throughout the year (Griffiths and Gardner 2008).

Range:
This species is restricted to South America but enters Panama near the Colombian border, it goes south to northern Bolivia, and the southern Amazon Basin of Brazil, east to Belem (Griffiths and Gardner 2008). It goes up to 1,400 m elevation (Emmons and Feer 1997).

Conservation:
Conservation of caves and karstic habitats in forested areas would be critical for these populations..
