Habitat:
This bat feeds on nectar, insects, and probably fruit and pollen. It roosts in small groups in caves. It is found in mature and secondary rainforest (Griffiths and Gardner, 2008), but also tolerate secondary or disturbed forests. In Peru, the species has been netted in primary and secondary tropical humid forest and near a banana grove (Hill 1980). Also occcurs in caves (Hill 1980).

Range:
This species occurs in east Ecuador, central Colombia and northeast Peru (Simmons 2005, Mantilla-Meluk et al. 2010). This is a species predominantly montane, usually found above 1,500 m asl.

Conservation:
Cave conservation is required through its distribution, as well as preservation of mature forest on montane areas. Present at some protected areas in Colombia, Ecuador and Peru.
