Habitat:
This species is poorly known and seems to be extremely rare. It feeds on insects (Eisenberg and Redford 1999, Montenegro and Romero-Ruiz 2000) and is associated with savannah formations (Chiribiquete) or tropical humid forests of the Amazon Basin (Vaupes) which are mostly undisturbed (H. Mantilla pers. comm). It lives in cave formations, in granitic outcrops and tepui like formations.

Range:
This species is found in southeastern Colombia (Simmons 2005), where it is known from two localities. One specimen is from 200 m elevation (Hernández-Camacho and Cadena 1978).

Conservation:
Several Natural National Parks occur nearby the known localities, so the area around these have some conservation status. Conservation of grantic outcrop formations, because of its scenic beauty exists for Chiribiquete, which is close to one of those localities.
