Habitat:
There is no information on habitat and ecology, although this species should have similar habits to other medium-sized species in the genus, being a frugivore from Andean mature forests (see Handley 1976).

Range:
The species is known from northern Venezuela and northern to central Andes of Colombia (Simmons 2005, Velazco and Gardner 2009). In its most restricted sense, it does not include P. aquilus, which occurs in southeastern Panama (Velazco and Gardner 2009).

Conservation:
Further studies are needed into the distribution, habitat, ecology, and threats to this species.
