Habitat:
This species occurs in primary tropical lowland forest, secondary forest, montane forest and village gardens.

Range:
This species is endemic to the islands of Malaita and Makira in Solomon Islands (Simmons 2005). It is also present on smaller satellite islands around Malaita and Makira (e.g. Ugi Island) (T. Lavery pers. obs.).

Conservation:
Further studies are needed to confirm the taxonomic status, range and population numbers, ecology, biology, and threats to this species (Mickleburgh et al. 1992).
