Habitat:
There is no information available regarding the habitat and ecology of this species.

Range:
The Nendö tube-nosed bat is known only from the holotype - a single female specimen sent to the Australian Museum by Rev. Actaeon Forrest in July 1892 along with other specimens of bats and fish but the locality was not recorded, other than Santa Cruz Group (Parnaby et al. 2017). Flannery (1995) suggested that the specimen was from Santa Cruz (Nendö) Island and certainly from within the Santa Cruz Island Group. Mickleburgh et al. (1992) erroneously report that it was last seen on Nendö in 1907, however there is no evidence to suggest this. Several subsequent biological expeditions in the 1980s and 1990s and between 2014 to 2018 to the region have failed to confirm this species (Flannery 1995, T. Leary pers. comm.).

Conservation:
Research is needed to resolve taxonomic uncertainty and to confirm, if possible, the existence of this species on Nendö Island.
