Habitat:
In Vietnam, the species has been recorded in disturbed and undisturbed lowland evergreen forest (Thong et al. 2006; Ith et al. 2011). In Thailand and Cambodia, it occurs in a variety of forest types including mixed deciduous forest, deciduous and dwarf dipterocarp forest, dry evergreen forest  and lowland evergreen forest (Ith et al. 2011). In Lao PDR, the species has been recorded in disturbed evergreen forest in areas of limestone karst (Furey, unpublished data).

Range:

The species is known from eastern Thailand, Cambodia, Lao PDR, and central and southern Viet Nam (Ith et al. 2011). It was previously also thought to occur in Myanmar, but records from the country were reassigned to Rhinolophus coelophyllus by Ith et al. (2011).

Conservation:

Being relatively common in eastern Thailand, Cambodia and Lao PDR (Ith et al. 2011, Thomas et al. 2013), the species likely occurs in protected areas in each country. In Vietnam, it is present in Chu Mom Ray National Park (Thong et al. 2011).
