Habitat:
The species is found in arid grassland dominated by tussock-forming spinifex grasses. It also resides within open woodlands, particularly with rocky ridges, along with rocky creek beds. It avoids areas without reliable water supply, but does occur occasionally near habitation, e.g. gardens, paddocks and roadsides (Gibbs et al. 2001, Baptista et al. 2019, del Hoyo et al. 2019).

Range:
The species is found throughout a large area of Western Australia and the Northern territories, Australia (Baptista et al. 2019, del Hoyo et al. 2019).
