Habitat:
Occurs in forests and woods, more common in the dry zone (Grimmett et al. 1998, Rasmussen and Anderton 2005, Warakagoda et al. 2012). Resident in lowlands, lower hills and up to mid-hills (to 1000 m), though local and uncommon at higher elevations (Rasmussen and Anderton 2005, Warakagoda et al. 2012). Breeds December-June (Rasmussen and Anderton 2005).

Range:
Treron pompadora is endemic to Sri Lanka (Gibbs et al. 2001, Rasmussen and Anderton 2005), where it is a fairly common breeding resident from lowlands to lower hills but local and uncommon up to the mid-hills (Warakagoda et al. 2012).
