Habitat:
It occurs in primary and tall secondary lowland forest, riverine and lower montane forest up to 1,000 m, with an assertion that it is chiefly a species of drier formations (Olsen and Marks 2020). It roosts in dense vegetation such as rattan palm by day.


Range:
Restricted to Sulawesi, Indonesia, where it is generally uncommon (BirdLife International 2001, Eaton et al. 2021).

Continue to monitor habitat trends using remote sensing data (e.g. Global Forest Watch). Advocate for the protection (whether it be through formal protected areas or OECMs) of Sulawesi's lowland forests, to protect populations of this and other lowland endemics.
